Hi,
I have recently purchased the following ticket: InterRail Global Pass 10 days within 22 days
At the moment I am definitly travelling between the following countries/places on the following dates (All depart early morning.) :
- 22/10/2010 - Train from Girona Airport in Barcelona to Barcelona main city centre.
- 24/10/2010 - Train to Girona Airport in Barcelona.
- 25/10/2010 - Train from Munich to Vienna
- 26/10/2010 - Train from Vienna to Prague
- 28/10/2010 - Train fro Prague to Amsterdam
My main questions are do I have to reserve seats on all these trains? If so how do I go about doing it? If not do I just hop on the train? This is first time I have done something like this, please help me someone it will be much appreciated.

Hi.
Barcelona Airport to Barcelona city center should be possible by free Regional train.
Barcelona - Munich by plane?
Munich to Vienna: use a direct EC, Railjet or ICE train which are FREE to use with InterRail
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/munich-budapest-en-463/55
Vienna - Prague: on a direct day train EUR 7, night train: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/vienna-berlin-en-60406/45
There are free day train connections using the schedule planer, avoiding the direct EC train (but some travelers reported that the EC trains are free - seems to depend on the staff).
Prague-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/prague-amsterdam-night-train/f3748
If you want, have a stop in Berlin - as from Berlin to Amsterdam you can reserve thsi train online (but you can also do it already in Munich).
Concerning reservations read here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
If you do not need a reservation, just jump into the train and sit down. :)
A step by step guide is here: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303
And always check the country topics where you will find a lot of rail connections and information: https://rail.cc/en/countries

Many thanks for your reply it is very much appericiated, however if you could still help me I have some more questions:
Barcelona Airport to Barcelona city center - Do I have to book the free regional train in advance? In the U.K. I have never heard of a train being free, do not know if this is different in Spain?
Barcelona - Munich by plane - That is correct because I only could get 10 days holiday off work I can not afford the time to take the 20 hour or so train ride to Munich, the flight only cost me about 30 euros so it was not much of an extra cost.
Munich to Vienna - I understand this one however where and how do I book/reserve this ticket even though it is free do I do it when I get to/arrive at the station on the day?
Vienna - Prague I am little confused by this to be honest. I can not take Night trains what so ever I want to depart from each destination in the morning. If from what I understand of what you written in your previous post, I can pay 7 Euros to reserve this one right? If so what, where and how do I do this? Which website?
Prague-Amsterdam I really can not do a night train for this journey I need a day train, also I go Berlin quite a lot so I really do not want to stop there at all unless its just to change over trains. Where can I reserve this online?
Overall no offence or anything I really apperciate all the information you have given me but I do not get much free time so am looking for some help in really breaking this down, there is to much information for me to go through here. I am still a little lost. Overall one other way I can clarify what I am mainly confused about is basically what websites do I need to go on to, to reserver my tickets? Also which trains do I need to reserve and which ones do I not? Please bare in mind I want to depart from each location as per dates mentioned in my previous post in the morning between about 5 to 7am

Girona (Barcelona Airport - it is 120km away from Barcelona) - Barcelona Sants:
First by bus from the airport to Girona city center.
Then by free IR train to Barcelona. Running every hour.
FREE means: you do not have to pay a reservation or supplement - just jump into the train and sit down.
Munich - Vienna: you won't need a supplement or reservation. Jump into the train and sit down.
Except for the night train. Follow the link mentioned and the link about reservations. Everything is explained there.
Vienna - Prague: Reservation/supplement - just read the topic reservations mentioned in the post before.
Free alternative ... simply use the schedule planer and select without HST/trains with supplements: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Wien Meidling Dep: 0932
Praha hl.n. Arr: 1421
A lot more available.
Prague-Amsterdam: simply use the schedule planer to find a connection. First by day train (you do not need a reservation or something) to Berlin - then by EC/IC train directly (and again no reservation) to Amsterdam.
Just check the country topics of our forum . Everything is explained there. You find all these connections there!
https://rail.cc/en/countries
InterRail is not an all inclusive holiday - it is simply a rail ticket. You have to plan your trip by yourself. I think all the information I already gave you will definitely help you.

Hi.
Just read the topic about reservations which I already mentioned several times.
There you can read that it is not possible to buy a reservation online for example for a train in Austria or the Czech Rep.
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
Vienna-Prague: you wil NOT need a supplement if you avoid the trains mentioned - and the train you want to use is FREE of supplements. You can just jump in it and sit down. If you want to have a seat reservation, you will have to buy it at a station in Austria.
Prague-Berlin-Amsterdam: all these trains are FREE of supplements. It is the same situation like mentioned on the Vienna-Prague train.
The information (please reserve, reservation required, ...) is for normal travelers. It has nothing to do with Rail Pass travelers.
Only the departure and arrival times are important for you.
The information given here is the one you need: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
And the one in the country topics: https://rail.cc/en/countries

So overall based on all the information I have now read I have come to the following conclusions:
1.) 22/10/2010 - Train from Girona Airport in Barcelona to Barcelona main city centre. - FREE I just get on and sit down. (No supplements/Reservation fee needed.)
2.) 24/10/2010 - Train to Girona Airport in Barcelona. - FREE I just get on and sit down. (No supplements/Reservation fee needed.)
3.) 25/10/2010 - Train from Munich to Vienna - FREE I just get on and sit down. (No supplements/Reservation fee needed.)
4.) 26/10/2010 - Train from Vienna to Prague - FREE I just get on and sit down. (No supplements/Reservation fee needed.)
5.) 28/10/2010 - Train fro Prague to Amsterdam FREE I just get on and sit down. (No supplements/Reservation fee needed.) (I have changed the journey times and trains on this one in regards to my last post, this one is now different.)
(*FREE is defined as me having the Interrail pass. **No supplements/Reservation fee needed Meaning I do not pay any supplement fee neither have to reserve anything at the station neither online.)
Here are my overall journey details I just want to double check and get a second opinion and make sure I am 100% correct on all this so I can stop worrying that I have now mis read something and done something wrong somewhere?
