Hey there everyone!
On August 10th, I'll be starting my first InterRail trip. My plan is to visit Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Germany. I'd like to ask something about the first part of the trip.
The trip will start from Istanbul, so far I've made this plan:
Aug 9th 20:30 Istanbul - Thessaloniki Aug 10th 09:33 (train)
Aug 10th 23:33 Thessaloniki - Athens Aug 11th 06:12 (train)
Aug 11th 17:45 Athens - Patras Aug 11th 17:45 (train)
Aug 11th 20:30 Patras - Kephalonia Aug 11th 23:15 (ferry)
1) I used the website www.trainose.com/content/wizards . I've heard that Greece trains are not always on time, do you think these times are reliable?
2) The plan is to visit Kephalonia and stay there for 2-3 days and go to Italy. To go to Italy, should I use a ferry from Kephalonia or should I go back to Patras and take a ferry there? And if I take a ferry to Italy from Kephalonia, would my InterRail ticket be of any help in means of discount?
3) Is there any discount for the ferry to Kephalonia from Patras for the InterRail ticket?
4) The train arrives in Patras at 19:55 and the ferry takes off at 20:30, do you think this is a risky plan? Would the train be late? Is the Patras train station and Patras Port close enough to catch the ferry?
5) Do you think it's ok to buy the ferry ticket from Patras or should I book it beforehand?
6) For my last question, I've heard that the train between Athens and Patras may be problematic, is it still the same? Should I take the bus instead? How much does the bus cost?
Thanks for all the help in advance!

Hi.
Istanbul-Thessaloniki: https://rail.cc/en/istanbul-athens-train/f2369
Thessaloniki-Athens: link above and https://rail.cc/en/athens-istanbul-train/f2370
Pay attention in Gereece as some IC trains might have high supplements. Always ask before you enter the train:

1) The OSE website is always a bit tricky. The best is to check it directly at the stations and follow the links mentioned above.
2) There is only a discount on the ferry Patras-Italy.
3) No.
4) I recommend at least 3 hours, as you still have to get the ticket and boarding time (if I remember right) is 60 minutes before departure.
Peter :)
