Hi, i'm looking for ideas for a route that can be done within 16 days, preferrably spending 2 days in each city, so maybe just 5 stops.
We are interested in visiting the following places, but would like to know which would be the best route to take using any of these cities:

Split (& possibly some of the islands around Split)
Dubrovnik (though 1 city in Croatia would do, so Split would be preferable)
Prague
Krakow
Budapest
Paris
Amsterdam - preferrably finishing in Amsterdam as we will catch a flight back to Ireland from there.

If anyone has anymore city suggestions that may make this a better route, it would be welcomed also!
(btw, we are 3 females, all over 26 - thanks!) :D

Hi.

Dubrovnik doesn't has a railway station - you will have to catch a bus in between Split and Dubrovnik.

From Split you can travel to Zagreb: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zagreb-split-b821/129

Split-Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/split-budapest-night-train/f4047
Also possible by day train.

All the information I give you are only examples. There are much more available using the schedule planer:
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Budapest-Krakow:

Krakow-Prague:

Then I recommend you to continue from Prague to Berlin as it is only something about 3 hours - and Berlin has a lot of good and cheap hostels and is really worth to see!
From Berlin you have as well better connections to Paris or Amsterdam.

Direct night train Prague-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/prague-amsterdam-night-train/f3748

Prague-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/prague-berlin-train/f3360

Berlin-Paris: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-paris-train/f2545

Berlin-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-amsterdam-train/f2407

Amsterdam-Paris: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-paris-train/f1472

Paris-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-amsterdam

Now it is your turn in which way you want to travel, first Amsterdam or Paris. :)

I hope this information will help you planing your trip.
And if you want to support our work here at the forum and not only an anonymous company, buy your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]

Thank you, Peter :)

Thank you so much - i've been to Berlin, but i'd gladly go again!
That's great information though - i wouldn't have a clue what route to take at all :)

If you don't want to stay overnight in Berlin, I recommend to travel in the morning from Prague to Berlin, stay there during the day (go for example in the corner of Friedrichshain with a lot of bars, students, restaurants, ... good to relax - there are lockers at the main station Berlin Hbf) - and in the evening continue by night train to Paris OR Amsterdam.
You can buy the reservations for these two night trains online. Just follow the links I gave you. :)

And do not hesitate to ask if you have some more questions.
Peter :)
