Hi,

I am planning to go interrailing next spring if everything goes well. This forum has been great and I am just trying to get every information i can :)

I live in Iceland so I would have to fly somewhere to get started on my trip :) I am thinking of about 4-6 weeks of travelling, maybe more if needed.

The places I would really be able to go to are :

France - Paris
Italy - Rome, Venice
Greece - Athens
Croatia - Dubrevnik
Bosnia and/or Serbia/Montenegro
Germany and or Poland (Want to see Auswitch)

If anyone out there has an idea of a goot route and maybe even more places to see and where it is best to start I would appreciate it :)

Hi.

It can be a nice route with the points you mentioned. Only Dubrovnik is a bit fare away from your main route.
As it is a bit difficult to reach (no station, but cheap buses).
The best is either to use a ferry from Italy - or to travel to Split, from there by bus.
But you have as well options to come from Montenegro by bus buses - don't have my maps and sheets here right now as I am traveling today.

Just a proposal to discuss it... :)

Paris - Rome - (some more cities in Italy, like for example Florence) - ferry to Greece - Athens - Istanbul - Sofia - Belgrade - (from here you have the option to head over to Croatia by train. Exp: Zagreb - Split - Dubrovnik - along the coast by bus to Rijeka - then by train to Ljubljana - Zagreb) - Budapest - Krakow - Auschwitz - Prague - Berlin - Amsterdam - fly back home.

Peter :)
