Hey

Me and a friends are going to begin our interrail on the 1st August from Portugal. We have an international train at 18h55 leaving from Coimbra (our hometown) or at 19h10 in a near town. However, the global pass (30 days ) only give us 50% discount. I would like to know if the first day in the passe will be the 1st August or 2nd August if we use the discount.

Thanks

Hi.

If you want to use the 50% discount, your InterRail pass already has to be valid.
So as you start the 1st of August, your pass has to be valid on the 1st.

And travelling on an 1-month-InterRail-Global-pass the 1900h-rule for night trains isn't important for you, as you can travel every day with your pass!
Only traveling with an 5 days in 10 or 10 days in 22 can make use of this rule.
With your 1-month pass you are flexible and free.

If you want to leave Portugal in direction of Paris, check out this train, as you get a special fare and do not have to pay a 50% discounted ticket:
