Hi guys! We are planning a trip to Luxembourg from Belgrade, Serbia. Also, we want to travel from Lux to Paris, Amsterdam and Bruxelles. We just don't know where to find rail map. We don't know which trains and lines we can use. Any help would be good because it's sort of urgent. :'(

Hi.

The best is just ot use maps.google.com
And the schedule planer: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

As you can reach nearly all cities within Europe by train. A map with rail tracks on it won't help you - as you do not know if and how often trains are running on these tracks.

If you want to travel a direct and fast way, have your first stop in Amsterdam, do it with this connection:

Beograd dep: 0535 | free EC train (if Serbia is your country of residence, you will need a ticket until the border)
München Hbf arr: 2133
A very panoramic route at the end trough the Alps.

München Hbf dep: 2243 | by CNL night train which you can book online in advance: https://rail.cc/en/munich-amsterdam-night-train/f3746
Amsterdam Centraal arr: 0903

Amsterdam-Brussels: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-brussels-train-thalys/f3991

Here in between you can add Luxembourg - just use the schedule planer mentioned above.

Brussels-Paris: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/thalys/41

Wow! Cool man, tnx a lot! I have one more question though. This timetable you posted shows me connections and times for traveling. I'm interested, can I use my interrail global pass for all trains that are shown there or I have to pay extra cash for some?

My plan is something like this. Primary goal is to get to Luxembourg because I have a friend there. From there, me and my gf will go to Paris for a few days and one day to Amsterdam. Anyway, I would like to know which trains I can catch with Interrail pass. Offcourse, I want to use this pass as much I can. It's all very confusing...

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

You can use all the trains mentioned for free - except the night train. Follow the link the supplements are listed. But for an overnight train this one is really good quality and very cheap. Cheaper than a hostel! :)

As soon as you are arrived in the Netherlands or Luxembourg, simply avoid the THALYS trains and the TGV trains, then everything is free.

Use the schedule planer with the option without HST.
If you want to use a HighSpeedTrain with supplement, check the supplements here:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

But like I said, simply avoid TGV and THALYS and you travel for free. In Germany most trains, also the high speed ICEs are free for InterRailers.

Hi.
When you say night trains, you mean trains with sleeping bed or something? Because, I was thinking to use this line a found on timetable:

dep 04.08.2010 at 21:40 and arr 05.08.2010 at 13:33 - Belgrade to Munich

After that I found

Munich-Luxembourg dep 05.08.2010 at 17:41 arr 22:30 the same day.

Can we use interrail for these lines? Except until the border, offcourse.

Sorry to bother you with all these questions, but the thing is I really can't get normal informations here, and as you see we're new at this. Tnx!

No problem to ask - that's the reason why we run this forum - to answer all these questions. :)

I could not find the direct train you mentioned, but I think it should be possible that the train has a direct wagon continuing to Munich.
I only have this connection.

Beograd dep: 2140 | by night train: https://rail.cc/en/belgrade-zagreb-ljubljana-villach-night-train/f2925
Villach Hbf arr: 0908

Villach Hbf dep: 0916 | by EC train - free to use with InterRail
München Hbf arr: 1333

Then the connection you mentioned I can't find as well - as I never heard about a direct train Munich-Luxembourg.

I have only this connection which is as well completely FREE of supplements for InterRailers.

München Hbf dep: 1340 | by free EC train
Koblenz Hbf arr: 1841

Koblenz Hbf dep: 1923 | by free IC train
Luxembourg arr: 2134

I hope this will help you.
And if you want to support our work here at the forum, buy your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you, Peter :)

Hey! Thanks for info a lot!
I think we misunderstood the first time about night trains. I thought we must pay if we are traveling at night, but the thing is, we don't need couchette or sleeper compartments. If it's free to travel by 2nd class - seats, than we're allright! :D

I like the first option (Belgrade-Zagreb-Ljubljana-Villach) and then take another train (Villach-Munich). That second train Villach-Munich is departing from the same station, right? I hope these lines are not changing and stuff? I don't want to miss any train because I want to squeeze all this in 1 out of 5 IR days.

Hi.

Check the schedules again short before your departure - but I am sure that they won't change. Small changes are only in beginning of June and December each year.

Hey!

So, I'm definitely going to Luxembourg with the first route you suggested (Belgrade-Villach, Villach-Munich, Munich-Koblenz and Koblenz-Luxembourg). The thing is, I don't know how to make reservations for each of these trains except for the first train (Belgrade-Villach). I called serbian railways and they told me I can do that when I buy my Interrail ticket and it's only 3 euros for seats. Any advice for other cities before Lux? Thanks!

Hi,

you dont neccessarily need reservations for the EC trains mentioned for that Beograd - Luxembourg connection.

Regarding the connection in Villach: It might happen sometimes that the 314 is late in Villach, I just checked the last two weeks and there were two delays of more than 30 minutes. But usually the connection should work just fine. And in case you'd actually miss it, there'd still be other connection where you could still get to Luxembourg. :)
