I´m sorry for my bad english, hope that you can understand everything right.
I´m going on my first interrail with my friends and We were wondering if you could answer couple of questions about
the trains. (We are from Iceland, and we dont have any trains there)
We bought youth 2nd class tickets.
For example, we are going to start our trip in copenhagen DK and travel from there straight to hamburg Germany, can we just go on the train station in copenhagen, find the next train that goes to hamburg, get on that train and just show the interrail tickets when guards ask for the train tickets?
Or
Do we have to get train tickets on the train station?
I know that if we wont to have seats we have to book that on the train-station, but do we have to pay extra for that
becouse we have 2nd class tickets?
If we can, then we are not going to buy any tickets online becouse we want to have complete freedom.
this site has been extremly helpful
Thanks

Hello to Iceland. :)
The trains Copenhagen-Hamburg are free using a direct ICE train.
First check the schedules:
https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route
There you find the type of train.
Compare it to the supplements website:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
If the train isn't listed there, you can use it for free. Just jump into the train and sit down.
Some trains have supplements (especially high speed and night trains).
To avoid the high supplements and to find information about night trains, always check the country topics:
https://rail.cc/en/countries
A nice option is as well: Copenhagen - Malmö/Lund - Berlin by cheap night train.
https://rail.cc/en/night-train/malmoe-berlin-en-301/57
If you need more help for more routes, check the links mentioned above.
If you are unsure, do not hesitate to ask again - no problem. :)
Have a sunny trip, Peter :)

Hi thanks for good and quick answer, but I were wondering about the night trains, both (Copenhagen - Malmö/Lund - Berlin) and also I found another night train that we might take (VIENNA (Wien) - VENICE (Venezia)) do we have to book those trains online or can we just make a reservation on the train stations?

Hi.
Copenhagen to Malmö/Lund by free Regional train (=Oeresund trains).
Malmö/Lund (it depends, check the schedules as there are some rail track works in progress in Malmö - the schedules are always up to date) to Berlin:
https://rail.cc/en/night-train/malmoe-berlin-en-301/57
This train you have to book at a station, for example then in Copenhagen - maybe you can get a reservation contacting the company (see link) directly, but I don't think so - never hear that this would be possible.
Vienna - Venice: should be also possible to book in Copenhagen, at least definitely in Berlin.
