Hey,
Its our first interrail and we have some random questions..
1) We have looked at the supplement page of the website but some trains which we find on the route planner dont come up on the supplement list. It is stated that only the main trains are shown on the supplement list. Does this mean there are there still some trains not on the list which have a supplement?
More precisely train from lsibon to Madrid is HOT335 doesnt come up on the supplement list but does it have a supplement?
2) TGV duplex what is it?
3) We want to got o Greece but everytime we try to type a name of a greek station it isnt recognized. How do we find the names of greeks stations?
For example we type in athens and it come sup as athenry which is in france i think.
Thanks
Peter

Hi.
1) Here is the train you are talking about:
https://rail.cc/en/train/lisbon-to-madrid
For night trains and special train connections always check the country topics:
https://rail.cc/en/countries
2) It is like a normal TGV - same supplements.
3) The Greece schedule database is not connected to the international system: [ux]https://rail.shop/ose[/ux]
But you can use Thessaloniki - the border station is accepted by the system.

Hi!
- Here is all the info for HOT 335: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/madrid-to-lisbon
On the supplement page https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation most trains should be listed, however, if you are not sure if a train you want to use has an additional supplement you can always ask here at the forum . :)
- TGV Duplex are double-deck units running Paris - Lyon and Paris - Marseille mostly (on some other routes as well). The supplement is the same as for all other TGV trains.
- The software of the online train planner doesnt include the timetables of the Greek Railways, you have to look directly at their website (ose.gr I think).

Thank you!
one more thing.. we were looking at trains in france and some are called 'Regional express' does this count as a regional train and therefore has no supplement charges?

Yeah, regional express or TER as they are called in France officially dont require a reservation. The only exception are the few TER GV running on some Lille to Calais, Boulogne and Dunkerque services - these require a 3 euro supplement valid all day.

hey again
Two more questions:
1) Is it advisable to book supplements online or can we just buy them at the station or on the train?
2) We are going from Italy to Greece by boat. we already saw the following link: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/italy/it . How do we find out the times of the boats, do we just follow the links shown and can chose any time? Do we just pay the supplements shown on the link I posted above like the 20eur plus port taxes plus fuel and does this mean we have a deck seat? or do we still have to pay more?
Thanks!

Hi.
1) If you know your exact travel date, buy a reservation or supplement in advance if needed - especially night trains and the French TGV trains easily get full during the summer months:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
2) You will have to buy your ticket directly at the office at the harbour. You will always get a place on deck. It is also possible to buy it by phoning them. Follow the link for travel times.

Hi Dan.
Everything correct - perfect! :)
Except one connection:
Perpignan-Barcelona. It is an TALGO DE JOUR with a supplement of EUR 6,50
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/france/fr
If you want to avoid this train, you can do it by this connection, but you will loose a lot of time of your stay in Barcelona:
Perpignan dep: 1230 | free Regional train
Port Bou arr: 1313
Port Bou dep: 1429 | free Regional train
Barcelona Sants arr: 1709
In your case I would spent the 6,50 for the Talgo.

Hey,
we have another question... what is the supplement of the TGV Paris -Irun? D 334 (sneltrein/train rapide) from Thessaloniki - Budapest-Keleti pu? and lastly D 313 (nachttrein/train de nuit) Irun- Lisbon?
Also, we've been using this website to find out train times: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route and we got a different time for the München Hbf - Paris train than on the link on this website: https://rail.cc/en/munich-paris-night-train/f3775 which one is correct?

Hi!
TGV to Irun: Should be 3/10€. I read that the supplement went up to 6€ but checked at my train station and they didnt know about it (and checked at ÖBB Intranet).
Thessaloniki - Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/thessaloniki-skopje-belgrade-night-train/f1636 (it's the same train running on to Budapest, prices should be about the same)
Surex: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/irun-lisbon-th-313/73
I just checked the schedule for the Munich - Paris CNL and it seems that arrival times in France are about one hour later at weekends...so you can trust the schedule planner. But apart from that timings in the link are correct. :)
