I have written a lot of posts so I am sorry for so many questions! I have sorted my route and booked hostels etc all the way up to Venice and then I was planning on going to Milan, Nice and Barcelona. I definitely want to go to Nice but is Milan actually worth going to and is the looooooong train journey from Nice to Barcelona really worth it just for 2 days in Barca? Should I maybe go elsewhere?

Hi.

It is really a long journey from Nice to Barcelona.
Maybe it is better to visit some towns in Southern France.

Milan is okay. But depends on what you like.

I have been looking on the european rail timetable and there does not seem to be the 6.05 train from Nice-Barcelona as you have got on the forum? I am thinking that maybe I will just explore some other places instead of barcelona, where can you recommend in the south of france, I was thinking nice, marseille, perpignan, not sure where else?

Thank you for all your help

Hi!

It seems this connection isnt running anymore. I just checked the schedules and there is no comfortable daytime connection without paying supplements anymore. :|

Nice and Marseille are definitely very nice places where you could stay 1-2 days. From Marseille you could make day trips to Aix en Provence, Avignon or the Camargue/Arles. From Nice to Monaco, Grasse, Antibes, Villefranche,... :)

The Petit Train Jaune is of course very nice as well, but also a little far away. You could go there from Marseille or Nice in the morning via Toulouse - in the evening you could take the night train from Perpignan to Paris. Or the other way round, first to Perpignan and then night train from Paris from Latour de Carol.
