Hi! I'm planning an adventure in January. I'm thinking of flying to Krakow, then interrail-ing the above route, Eurostar back to London. Do you think this is feasible? Have you done something similar, and how much do you reckon it will cost?

I'm planning on spending at least one full day in each city (as I'm on limited time and budget). Any advice or alterations would be greatly appreciated! Shan.

Hi Shan!

This is a nice route - especially in January it will be a little different experience than the usual summer InterRailing. :) As there wont be as many tourists around but more persons actually living in those cities and you will have a totally different impression of the places.

How long did you plan your journey? I think the 10in22 ticket probably will be your best choice, leaving you with some spare travel days which you could use to make some additional sponaneous stops along the route.

Maybe think of switching Lille and Bruges - as you will have direct Eurostar services from Lille for your way back home. Freiburg - Bruges you could go with free trains via Strasbourg and Bruxelles.

For night trains, check the relevant country boards of the forum - for other train schedules check with the online train planner: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

I'd estimate ~30€ per day, given that you travel partly in Eastern Europe where it will be cheaper than in the cities you're going to in Western Europe.

If you need any further help, just say something. ;)
