Not sure if this is the right place to post..
Late in August, I will be embarking on my very first Interrail adventure for 10 days. The first and last night I'll be staying in hostels, but for the other nights, I plan to make couchette reservations and sleep on night-trains.
These are the train stations I will be visiting:
Budapest
Belgrade
Zagreb
Salzburg (or Vienna)
Zurich
Amsterdam
Munich
Could you reply and let me know if ANY of these train stations have showers? I'm trying to organise a shower timetable; it will be useful to know whether these stations have pay-shower facilities or not.
If NO SHOWERS ARE AVAILABLE, could you post alternatives? People mention swimming pools e.g.; could you post with the closest amenity to the station?
Your contribution to Shenanigans! (my Interrail trip) will be very much appreciated.

Hi!
I only know that the are showers in München Hbf and that there arent any at Wien or Salzburg.
In 2006 in Amsterdam we went to the campsite (Zeeburg) to have a shower...dont know if now there's a shower available at the station. You could also look for hostels close to the station to ask if they have showers available.

Hmm. That's a good idea - will you be visiting any of the countries listed above? If so, we could maybe help each other out with the shower hunt?

Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg: NO SHOWERS IN TRAIN STATION
Amsterdam: YES
We therefore need to find alternative showers for Budapest, Vienna/Salzburg! No luck so far on my end, but I'll keep on hunting. Thanks :)

hi
does anyone know where may i take a show in:
Bucarest
Sofia
The thing is, in order to avoid the 24h trip to Istambul im thinking in try to do that trip in separated night trips and enjoy the evenings in those two cities, so the trips are:
budapest -> bucarest
bucares - > sofia
sofia - > istambul
the problem is that it is need to spent 3 nights in train, that means 3 days with no shower , and I dont wanna sting eheh
so does anyone know if is posible to take show in bucarest or sofia?
thank you

I'm not aware of showers in the mentioned stations. :|
There should be a shower in at least one of the night trains Budapest - Bucuresti but according to reports it is used as a storage area and without function.
3 days without showering is rather acceptable for an InterRailer anway... :D But you might try to shower at a hostel close to the stations...

IF stations have a shower-it will cost (a lotoften) and will be in the WC=toilet section.
In some cases you could think of training into a nearby airport (in AMS this just takes 17 mins-with 5/6 trains/hr) as they tend to have them more-at even higehr prices.
IF trains have a shower, this is only in some of the newest sleepercars-and thus only available if you have reserved that (often only for 1st cl>)

This is a late reply, but in case others are interested...
The Zürich station has showers! And Copenhagen, if anyone's wondering. I remember at least the Zürich showers are expensive.
But I agree it's OK for an Interrailer to not be squeaky clean all the time. :) One can wash up a bit in restrooms (at non-busy times of the day)... or in a lake in the countryside.
Cosmetics chain Lush has some very good deodorants!
