Hi there

I'm planning on a month long trip and my outline itinerary is;
Barcelona - Sth of France - Northern italy - ferry to Croatia - Montenegro - Hungary - Czech Republic - Austria - Switzerland - Paris

I'm considering the '22 days continuous' ticket but I read on some forums that it may be more cost effective to purchase train tickets 'as you go' ???

I would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

An option could be the 10in22 day flexi pass - together with reservations I'd estimate it would cost you around 300€. Then you would have to plan a little to make good use but it should be fine if you make good use of the 1900-rule.

I cant really tell if idividual tickets would be cheaper - there are of course some cheap tickets available bus usually their number is limited, you are fixed on a certain train and date or can use regional trains only. With the InterRail ticket you dont have to think about all that - all you would need is to make a few reservations along your trip (esp in Italy and for night trains).

One quick price example I can give you from Austria: Wien - Buchs (swiss border) is 64,2€.
