Hi,
I am travelling from Biarritz to Barcelona next Monday. Looking on the Deutsche Bahn website it advises me I can get a train from Biarritz to Irun and then a bus from Hendaye to Barcelona. Despite Irun and Hendaye being close, it only gives me 12 minutes to get off the train and onto the bus or i will miss it.
Does anyone know if this is possible? Or if there is a better way to get to Barcelona from Biarritz. I leave on Monday and arrive in Barcelona on Monday as I have accomodation booked.
Cheers

Hi!
I made a quick search and didnt find a connection by bus...would you help me out?
Other options would be:
Biarritz 1426 - 1450 Hendaye
Hendaye - Irun with EuskoTren, not included in InterRail, ticket maybe 1-2€ or so.
Irun 1600 - 2158 Barcelona Sants :arr: Alaris, 6,50/10€ compulsory reservation
There is also a TGV running
Biarritz 1518 - 1553 Irun
which costs ~3€ reservation but in my opinion that's quite a risky connection in Irun so I'd recommend to get the earlier train.
There is only one other direct train Irun - Barcelona, dep Irun at 0800 - you would have a connection from Biarritz at 0717 to Hendaye - then again with EuskoTren to Irun. The Irun - Barcelona train is an Alaris again.
Another (longer) route would be:
Biarritz 0809 - 1153 Toulouse
Toulouse 1313 - 1425 Carcassonne
Carcassonne 1448 - 1520 Narbonne
Narbonne 1611 - 1959 Barcelona Franca :arr: Talgo, 6,50/10€ compulsory reservation

Cheers Flo, that was great.
I was under the impression that it was a bus service from Irun but must have got duff info.
Would I have to reserve a place on both the Biarritz to Hendaye and the Irun to Barclona, or just the later?
Also is it possible to make a reservation online for the Irun to Barcelona?
Cheers

Hi!
You dont need a reservation for the Biarritz - Hendaye train. ;)
I dont know a possibility for making the Alaris reservation online - you will have to do so at a train station. In Biarritz you should get it. :)

Hello there!
I was reading this very useful information and i have a doubt:
Are these ways of getting from Biarritz to Barcelona only possible if you have a Rail Pass??
Cause I need to get to Barcelona from Biarritz or anywhere around it, on the 8th August, to get, then, a flight to Budapest.
But i don't have a Rail Pass.
Is there a way of making this journey without a Rail Pass?
Thanks a lot!

Hi!
Timings are the same whether travelling on a rail pass or not. For price info you could check online at renfe.es or sncf.fr or check at a Barcelona RENFE station. :)
