Hi!
DB-sites tell that connection Ljubljana-Pisa would be a long trip with many changes. Is that true or is there a faster connection from Ljubljana (or a city near to it) to Pisa/Florence (or some cities near them)? One friend mentioned that they had a really quick train from Venice to Ljubljana, is that connection available anymore or why can`t I find it from the sites?
Thanks a lot for all the info. Or if you have better suggestions for that route, it would be great to hear them. :)
And one question more; can you tell me about the boats from Croatia to Italy/Greece. How fast are they and how much does a trip cost? Thanks :)

Hi.
For Ljubljana to Pisa travel this way:
https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663
About the ferries I don't have any details as they aren't included in InterRail.

Hi!
There is only one direct train between Ljubljana and Venezia at the moment, running during the night: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-night-train/f1388 Unfortunately there arent any direct day trains at the moment. :|
Best (and cheapest) solution to get to Venezia (and continue then to Pisa) is described in Peter's link. However, I just checked with the schedule planner of ÖBB (which uses the same database as the one of DB) and now there are those connections mentioned you will find in the mentioned link. This means changing at Sezana and Nova Gorica/Gorizia. These connections take ~ 6 hours.
To continue to Pisa just use the schedule planner. There are fast hourly connections with change of trains in Firenze, taking ~3h30.
