Is there anyway to travel from the Netherlands to Denmark without travelling trough Germany?

I do ask this question, because i am from Germany and want to visit both countries and go further north to Norway, but first wanted to visit the Netherlands

Hi.

There is no way to travel from the South, West or East to the North of Europe without crossing Germany. Except if you use a ferry.
The rule of the country of residence is a really sad for Germans - as I am as well from Germany, I know this big problem. :'(

Two options:

1) try to get a cheap special-fare ticket for the direct CNL night train Amsterdam-Copenhagen starting from EUR 29 per person:
https://rail.cc/en/train/amsterdam-to-copenhagen

2) By Schönes Wochenende Ticket of Deutsche Bahn, valid only on Saturdays and Sundays, only on Regional trains with up to 5 persons in total. The total price is EUR 39.

Other connections available. This is only an example. Just use the schedule planer for more details:

First of all thank you for your reply,

We also would use a ferry if possible.
Do you know any ferry connections we could use to avoid paying for the travelling in Germany?(the country of residence rule is very bad in our case)

There is no direct ferry from the Netherlands to Denmark.
Only Hoek-van-Holland to Harwich: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-netherlands-england/f1659
Harwich to Esbjerg (Denmark) by DFDS which is more than 100 EUR...

Maybe think about a cheap flight like by Ryanair to some of their Swedish destinations. They start from either the Netherlands or from Weeze (named Düsseldorf), just at the Netherlands-German border.

An other option would be by direct bus service like from Eurolines.

I dont know if there's a bus service available - maybe check at Eurolines website...? The Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket described above could be a good solution, especially if you are travelling in a group.

Humm, than the best option probably is to look for an EuropaSpezial ticket from Amsterdam to Kobenhavn. :|
