Does the Interrail Ticket unvaild in the residence country?

I want to buy the Interrail Ticket to travel from Hannover to BrĂ¼ssel and Paris. But if I cant use it in Germany, I have to buy an extra ticket to the boarder? So the cost of travel is much.

And how can I travel with the train in Germany? I have to buy another one country ticekt for Germany?
Thanks

Hi.

You are right. You can not travel for free in your country of residence. If you travel on an GLOBAL INTERRAIL pass you only get a discount to the border an back.
Especially for persons living in big countries like for example France, Germany, Italy, ... it is a very sad rule.
Read here for details:

Have a look at Europa Spezial Preis tickets of Deutsche Bahn which will help you saving money.

Peter :)
