Hi there :)
My family are thinking of travelling to Crete next summer. As I would be there already, I would love to explore more of the Greek Islands (I've already been to Corfu and LOVED it there) and onto mainland Greece (perticularly Athens) and then maybe possibly onto part of Italy depending on how much it would cost etc and then fly back to the U.K. Any ideas on how what routes would be best, how much it would be and any other suggestions/ideas?

Hoi!
Will you go to directly to Crete and if yes where from? How many days do you want to spend in general ?
The simple route goes Crete - Athens - Patras - Italy (ship - train - ship)

I will most likely be flying directly from the UK to Crete ( North-East / Midlands airport) and then flying back from the final point in the trip. I'm not sure about the length really :/ I think that 2 weeks would be plently of time to explore. The route you've suggested sounds like a good plan. Have you got any more details on it?

It's the standard route from Crete to Piraeus(Athens) by ship (there are many routes daily) and from Athens to Patras by train (or bus) and then Patras to Italy (Ancona Bari Venice) by ship.
