Hi, I'm a German living in Norway since January. I intend to travel in July. I have a work contract that states my arrival in January and a governmental residence document that states me as registered in Norway in March (EU citizens need to register in a country 3 months after the arrival). I am not registered in Germany any more.
Do I buy an Interrail ticket as a Norwegian (= is my country of residency also Norway in terms of Interrail policies)? And what should I bring with me to proof that?
Thanks for answering!

Hi Mareile.
If the governmental residence document you have shows a six months stay in Norway, then you can buy a Norwegian InterRail Pass.
Always have this document with you together with your passport.

Hi everybody,
i also have a question: i have been living as an au pair in France during the last 13 months and i have documents like my job contract, bills for electricity, schools, my public transport ticket and stuff to prove that, but i never got registered in france, so on my id my adress is still my german one, where i used to live before. now i would like to go to berlin, and i would be able to get my contract and some paper saying that i worked for this family in german, as my hostfamily is german too, but does this help when im still registered in germany or cant i get a frensh ticket then?

Hi.

The official words are like this: You can proof your current address by showing governmental certificates, bank receipts, telephone bills or student visa.
Theoretically you should be able to buy a French InterRail Pass - with residency in France.
Then you can NOT travel for free in France, but you can travel for free in Germany.

Maybe check it as well directly at a station in Paris - what they say. My opinion: French InterRail Pass - but no guarantee.
But you should easily get without any problems (as you own a German ID card or passport) a German InterRail Pass.

check as well the website of Deutsch Bahn. often they have special discounted tickets like Europe Spezial for EUR 29/39 from Paris to Berlin by direct night train. if you book early, you can get it. but you are then fixed on train, date and time.

thanks a lot again! well i went to the station in paris and they had doubts about giving me the ticket cause they said i could get in some troubels on the train when i have to show my ticket... but then i went to the town hall of the suburb where im staying and they gave me an official attestation saying that ive been staying there for a year. all i had to prove was an attestation by my hostfamily. so now it should be fine :)
