I have posted a few times on here but exams got in the way of planning and has all gone to pot! But think this is the final plan...just wondered if (a) anyone has done it? (b) it's possible connection-wise? and also
(1) Struggling to find the best way to get from Bruges (where we are starting) to Berlin..is this via Amsterdam? and (2) Does anyone know how far away from Krakow Auschwitz is and is it the best city to reach it?

Berlin-Prague
Prague-Krakow
(Auschwitz)
Krakow-Bratislava
Bratislava-Budapest
Budapest-Vienna
Vienna-Zagreb
Zagreb-Lake Bled
Lake Bled-Ljubljana...then onto Italy.

Many thanks for all the help...we are going to be buying the passes soon!

Hi!

Nice route, and no problems connection-wise. :) Just use the route planner and you will find all you need: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
For night trains browse the country topics of the forum .

If you need help in finding particular connections, I'd be glad to help but would need to know more precise info on date and time.

For Auschwitz, put Oswiecim in the route planner. It's about 1h30 from Krakow.

Brugge - Berlin:

Best connection:

Brugge 1058 - 1155 Bruxelles Midi
Bruxelles Midi 1225 - 1415 Köln Hbf
Köln Hbf 1428 - 1908 Berlin Hbf

Via Amsterdam travel time is ~11h. Attention! If you look for connections on that route with the travel planner make sure you dont select routes which include the expensive Thalys trains Bruxelles - Amsterdam or Bruxelles - Köln! Use the trains without surcharge/no HST option. ;)

Flo,

Thanks for the tip! This may seem rather stupid, but I can find the route I want to go...but I don't understand how I can reserve the seat! Could you advise! Thanks x
