Hi
I'm planning the following route in mid June and I'm wondering whether anyone has any thoughts as to whether an interrail pass is worth it? (Any general comments on my route will also be appreciated!)
Bratislava to Budapest
Budapest -Vienna
Vienna to Lake Bled
Bled to Ljubljana
Ljubljana - Munich (overnight train)
The pass I'm looking at is the 5 in 10 days. I've tried to cost the individual tickets but haven't managed to find all the prices but it looks to be coming out about roughly the same as the interrail pass. However, I'm thinking that the supplement on top of the interrail pass may make it more expensive? It also seems that a bus from Bled to Ljubljana may also be easier than the train...
Also, If i go for the interrail pass, would people advise making any necessary reservations in advance (for example for the overnight train to Munich)? I'm in the UK and making reservations pre departure doesn't seem to be that straightforward...
Thanks!
Lea

Hi Lea.
About the single train tickets I can't give you details. As I am only specialist for the InterRail pass. Maybe just ask at the national railway companies for details if you are interested in it. But I am sure, InterRail will be the cheaper solution:
- as you only get cheap special fares when purchasing the single train tickets weeks in advance - then you are fixed on date and train.
- you will also have to pay the additional supplements (for night trains, ...) on a normal single train ticket. It is not only on the InterRail one.
Concerning your journey you only need to pay a supplement for the type of category you want to have in the night train Ljubljana-Munich. All other trains are free of supplements.
