Hi,
I'm planning a interrail trip around Europe this summer!
This is my first time in Europe and since I don't have many days, I would like to go to the main cities and get an overview of them so one day, when I come back, I would have a better idea of where I would like to spend more time.
So far, this is my plan:
Paris - Brussels - Burgges: day train
Burgges - Amsterdan: day train
Amsterdan - Berlim : day train
Berlim - Prague: day train
Prague - Vienna: night train (26 euros triple sleeper) https://rail.cc/en/prague-vienna-night-train/f1677
Vienna - Munich: night train (20 euros 6-beds couchette) https://rail.cc/en/budapest-vienna-munich-night-train/f1747
Munich - Venice: night train (20 euros Couchette 6-berth) https://rail.cc/en/night-train/munich-zagreb-en-499/151
Venice - Rome: night train (30 euros 4-beds couchette) https://rail.cc/en/naples-rome-venice-night-train/f1514
Is everything ok with my plan?
And for which trains do I need to make a reservation? Oh, and what is the difference between reservation and supplements?
Thanks!

Hi Iana.
Well prepared. That's good to answer. :)
Paris-Brussels-Brugges: https://rail.cc/en/paris-brussels-bruxelles-train/f3992
Avoid the expensive THALYS train.
You can use the schedule planer with the option without HST and you will find your way to Brugges using free trains.
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Burgges - Amsterdam: again - avoid the THALYS train. You can find your way with free IC trains.
https://rail.cc/en/brussels-bruxelles-amsterdam-train/f3994
Amsterdam-Berlin: free of supplements
https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
Berlin-Prague: free of supplements
https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361
The rest of your route is like you mentioned.
I recommend for Vienna-Munich a day train - the night train isn't worth as you have less than 6 hours to sleep. Better to stay in a cheap hostel one more night in Munich.
All day trains between Vienna and Munich are free.
The difference between reservation and supplement:
If a supplement is required, you have to buy it - for example for some high speed trains like the THALYS mentioned above or the night trains.
A reservation is free of choice. If you travel for example in peak times (Friday evening), a reservation is nice to have as you get a seat for sure - otherwise it is sometimes possible that you have to sit on the floor. Not often, but it might happen.
If you know the exact travel dates for your night train travels, I definitely recommend to buy them already in Brussels, Amsterdam or Berlin. It should be possible for your whole trip. Especially in the summer, night trains get full very fast.
And if you want to support our forum and all the work, buy your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you and have a sunny trip, Peter :)

Thanks for you answer! :D
Just two more questions:
-Is there a way that I can know how much will the reservations costs? So I can take enough money to the trip.
-I have an interrail pass and I'm traveling with a person that has an eurail pass. Are there any different procedures between those passes? Or what is valid for one is valid for both?
Thanks again!

Hi.
For the exact supplements just follow the links.
And check the supplements website: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
Everything is listed there, so you can plan.
It is no problem to travel together, to use the same trains, to sit together or sleep together in one compartment.
Also the supplements are in 95% the same, especially for night trains.

And about the night trains. If I pay for the bed, do I need to pay more for the reservation? Or just by paying for the bed I already have an reservation?
Thanks! :D

By paying the supplement for your bed, you have already everything. Nothing more to add. :)

Hello!
I have one more question.
I'll be starting to use my interail pass on the 10 of July. And since It will be a 15 days pass I figured that I will have until the 24 of July to use it, right?
The thing is that I was planning to catch a night train on the 24. It would departure from Venice at 23h13. Can I do this or would I need a pass that covers more days?
Thanks again!

Hi!
Validity of your 15 day continuous pass:
10th July 0001 - 24th July 2359
So you'd need an extra ticket for that night train. Or, get a 10in22 pass - gets cheaper that the 15 days continuous and usually the ten travel days should be sufficient, especially with good use of the 1900 rule for night trains. :)

Hum...
And which rule is this one? Is this valid only for interrail or eurorail too?
Thanks! :D

It does apply for Eurail as well. :)
