Hi Peter , Hi everybody ,
First of all, thanks very much for all the post in this forum , it makes me more clear after 5 hours of reading. But I’m still confused in the supplement, surcharge as well as the principe of ‘ going out and in the border’ . It’s very grateful if someone can help me in my case as below.
I’am soon a member of interailer next week for Italy with PASS ONE COUNTRY 3 days. I live in France , and I’d like to visit Venise, Roma and Pisa. My questions are long to my journey’s planning :
(1) Day 1: June 03 , Paris -Roma , 7h42 – 18h45: TGV Astesia Day.
Is the principe of suppelement : I will be charged of each train taken (if the supplement is applicable for this train, as shown in the table in this forum) ???
If this is right, as I have to change train in Milan at 14h50, I’m sure to pay 20 euro ( 10e for Paris-Milan and 10e for Milan- Roma)? Beside that, if I have to pay another fare , such as for going out of the France ? How could I cacul the surcharges : Paris to the boder France – Italiy and the border to Milan ?
Other question: I want to rest a fews hours in Milan, could I take the next train Milan –Roma at 17h45? In this case , after paying in France the train Paris – Milan, a sperate reservation for Milan – Roma has be done on trenitalia.com ?
Are there always the night train form Paris to Rome or Paris – Venise? A fews days ago I have seen it in website SNCF but not now. How can I take them , Peter?
(2) Day 2: june 05: Rome – Pisa, 8h7 – 10h45 and Pisa – Venise, 16h54-20h21
The train ES Italia AV need a reservation in avance ? is 5 hours in Pisa enough for visit ?
(3) Day 3: june 08: Venise – Monaco, 8h32 – 15h41.
The question of border is here again. How would the charge be applied for going in the France, especially from Ventimiglia (border) to Monaco. As the time for chaging train is 10 min in Ventimiglia, can I pay in Italie for this partial journey.
(Fin trip in Italy, I will visit some city in South of France)
(4) I would like to recive your sugesstions about my planning.
How do you think if the journey is inversed : Paris – Venise –Rome – Pisa and Monaco or something like that ?
(5) If we have the discounts with a card ISIC for the pass Inerail and other services …? I’m 26 yrs old now ( my birthay in December for 27 yrs old), if I can buy the pass for youth.
I’m sorry for many questions as this is the frist trip with train. I am be take the pass in this website ASP.
Thank you ‘mille fois’ in avance for all of yours suggestion.

Hi.
1) Using an INTERRAIL ONE COUNTRY Pass for ITALY won't give you any discounts on a train in France.
So you will have to pay the full fare for the train Paris-Italy until the Italian border. You can get it at a station in France or maybe even online via the SNCF website.
Then continuing your travel from Milano to Roma: you can buy the reservation online via trenitalia.it
https://rail.cc/en/italy-train-supplement-online-booking/f2949
Or if available use free IC trains:
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/italy/it
2) Yes. Eurostar Italia needs a supplement. But check if you can do it by IC train. 5 hours for Pisa: should be okay if you only want to rush trough the highlights.
3) You can buy the ticket online at SNCF website for Ventigmillia-Monte Carlo. You have to pay the full fare: I remember it is about EUR 7 one way.
4) I think both directions are okay.
5) No discounts with ISIC. Only on your age. If you start on the 01.07.2010, you can only buy a YOUTH ticket if you are born after the 01.07.1985
Have a sunny trip, Peter :)
