Hiya! Me and my friend want to go interrailing for a month once we turn 18 next June and after our A levels have finished (yes we know it's over a year away but we want to plan :) ). Well basically we are wondering where to go and if anyone had any advise on the best countries/places they have been? We're thinking Paris, Nice , Rome and Sorrento but not sure where else maybe Spain/Portugal/Greece? Also we are slightly confused on how it works. Would we have to buy InterRail Global pass thing that allows you to go to all the countries even if we want to visit say 4? And also on some websites they split Europe into regions eg Southern Europe, Northern Europe etc so can you buy a pass per region? Also are there any islands off Italy eg Sardinia that any one could recommend? Sorry for all the questions we just don't really know where to start! Also we're not going to lie a tan would be good so we're def thinking places that are hot and also places with good nightlife we will be 18 after all haha! :)
Thanks
Kathryn and Ellen :)

Hi Kathryn and Ellen...
The best is just to read this topic, already explaining a lot:
https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303
There are not North, south or something passes...
Only the GLOBAL pass, allowing to travel the whole Europe or SINGLE COUNTRY passes, for single countries. As soon as you travel 3 or more countries, a Global pass is in most cases the cheaper option.
Concerning on where to travel: Europe is soooo big... you have to find your own preferences... as you still have the time, just read around a little bit... :)
And you don't have to explore Europe at once. Do it step by step.
