Start in London and fly/ferry/eurostar +train to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam - Prague - Budapest - Vienna - Split - (hopefully Dubrovnik as well then ferry over to Pescara or Bari) - Rome - Venice - Milan - Then it's either finish at Zurich or go onto Monaco/Nice - Barcelona.

Is this realistic or am I going too far? It's for 30 days starting in Amsterdam. I want to see sights and do some hiking :|

Any help with this route or changes would be much appreciated. First time travelling and could do with as much help as I can get!

Thanks,

Mark

HI Mark.
Definitely a nice route - and you can easily do it within 1 month - it will be relaxing and not only rushing trough all the places you want to visit.
Some links which might help you (there are other trains available as well).

General train scheduleshttps://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

A list of trains which need supplements: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

London-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/london-amsterdam-train/f3989

Amsterdam-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-prague-night-train/f3747
Think about a stop in Berlin.

Prague-Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/prague-budapest-train/f1468
In between you can add Krakow if you like.

Budapest-Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/budapest-vienna-munich-train-railje/f4070

Vienna-Split: https://rail.cc/en/vienna-rijeka-split-night-train/f1908

To Dubrovnik you can travel by frequent buses. Shouldn't be too expensive.

Ferry Dubrovnik-Italy: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-croatia-italy/f2339

And in Italy, use the free but slower IC trains. Eurostar Italia trains are expensive.

Peter, you're a star :D

Is there anywhere I could add to get some more clear waters & sandy beaches? And where's a good hiking place?

Late Balaton between Budapest and Wien could be an option. Or visit one of the Austrian lakes (either in Carinthia or in the Salzkammergut) which you can combine with a little hiking. :)

Um, well if you are more into relaxing, lying at a sandy beach, partying - go to Lake Balaton. OK, you can have that as well at the lakes in Carinthia (Wörthersee, Ossiacher See, Faaker See for instance). The Salzkammergut lakes have really stunning scenery (ie Hallstätter See or the lakes around Bad Aussee) and have nice mountains around where you can enjoy nature. I can give you more details if you need later, I'm off to Berlin now.. :)
