Hi everyone, going interRailing for the time in June for 15 days and my vague plan is Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-Vienna-Geneva/Zurich-Paris-Brussels-Brugge, although whilst in Austria there is a little village called Hallstatt near Obertraun I'd love to get to.

Wondering what you make of it? I'm a little worried that we might be trying to fit too much into the 15 days. I'm also a little concerned that we're hitting all the big cities and might be missing out on a few smaller places off the beaten track which would be worth seeing. Any ideas?

Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben.

For a 15 days trip it is the best to get an overview ... for more detailed travels in future. :)

Within Austria it is easy to use the free day trains to reach a lot of places.
Just use the schedule planer to find your way:
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

For your main route, some examples. There are of course much more connections available.

Amsterdam-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346

Berlin-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361

Prague-Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/prague-vienna-night-train/f1677

Here you can add Budapest if you like as it is only 2-3 hours away from Vienna and definitely worth to visit.

Vienna-Geneva: most connections are via Munich and Zurich. Both worth a stay. If you want, use the night train Vienna-Zurich and then continue by day train to Geneva:
https://rail.cc/en/vienna-zurich-night-train/f1449

Geneva-Paris: I recommend the direct TGV Lyra trains - but with a supplement:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/switzerland/ch

Paris-Brussels: https://rail.cc/en/paris-brussels-bruxelles-train/f3992

Brussels-Brugges: free IC trains. Never use in this region the THALYS trains which have high supplements!

And don't forget and support our forum - purchase your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]

Thank you, Peter :)
