Hi,
I will do an Interrail next June and one of the city I will visit is Rome. It will be only one day, since early morning till 11p.m), it's a very short time to see such a big city so I'm tryng to not spend big time in the rail station. I was reading lot of stories about scams to get money from the tourist there and some troubles to find the way to pay the supplements and validate the IR ticket. If someone can explain the fastest way to get the ticket with supplements I would be very happy :)
My questions:
If I by a ticket online by Trenitalia.it (they have a form space for IR number as well) should I go to a ticket machine and do something to validate or can I pick the train directly?
If I don't buy online and I want to make a reservation for bed in a couchette, where should I go inside the train station Termini?
Thank you,
Caterina

I will answer to myself...
I was in Roma Termini train station and it was hard to get the ticket. I arrived to the station and I started to look for where to buy the ticket.
There was a BIG line of people in the place where I should buy the ticket, so I tried the ticket machine. When I was there trying to buy the ticket, there was some women trying to get money from helping us with the machine, but the machine is too simple, no help needed... in the end of all process the machine said: don't forget to validate the ticket!
this was a big problem, when I asked where I can validate this ticket they said that I should go to the place where there's a big line of people!!! So I waited and waited and waited for a hour... and in the end there was no need of validate that ticket!!!
So, to everybody: If your ticket has the day and hour of your trip, YOU DON'T HAVE TO VALIDATE! and in Rome do to the machine, it's much more easy...
I hope this helps.
