Hi! I am backpacking for the first time(at the age of 30+ I´ts never to late!). I`ve read some topics about safety on nighttrains, but I still feel like I want some more advices.. I am female and going to travel by myself. To use the time as much as possible I`ve been thinking about taking nighttrains as much as possible. To save money (and because I can sleep almost everywhere) I am going to book seats. How wise and safe is that? The two routes it concerns is Berlin to Vienna and Ljubljana to Munich.
If anyone have any advise about this or if some female traveller want to share their advises about anything that could be useful, I would be grateful!
Thanks in advance from the newbie who is both exited and a bit nervous... :D

Hi.
I recommend to book on both trains a couchette. As it can be locked.
Seats are okay - but if you want to feel save, use the couchettes.
Ask for woman only compartments which are available.
Berlin-Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-vienna-night-train/f3738
Ljubljana-Munich: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-munich-night-train/f4000
On this route a day train might be nice as well, as for the landscape as well - and the night is very short (only 6 hours something).
A nice option is to fix your backpack with a simple bicycle locker somewhere in the compartment.

A good idea since you'll be passing beautiful Alpine scenery. :)
