Hello,
When I buy an IR Global ticket, I must fill in the starting date of my journey. However,if after that (of course, it is still before the first valid date of the ticket) there are some changes in my schedule, can I delay the starting date of my journey for 1 week? In that case, what should I do?
Thanks,
KaL Pham

Hi Kal Pham.
If you want to change the starting date of your InterRail pass after the purchase, you will have to send your ticket back.
The old ticket will be destroyed and a new rail pass will be printed out an send to you.
Usually there is a fee of 20% of the ticket price you will have to pay for such an exchange - as it is a rail pass and not only a single rail ticket.
I recommend to order your InterRail pass some days before your departure, when your starting date is fix.
As the delivery via our partner [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] is within 24 hours in the UK and 48 hours on business days within the rest of Europe.
Add one or two extra days and you are safe. :)

Thanks Peter,
I have to buy the ticket in advance (at least 2 weeks in advance) because I need to provide all the travel evidences for the Embassy where I apply for Schengen Visa :'( . In case my visa application is not approved by the Embassy, I surely have to return the ticket :( :'( . In that case, I think almost half of the ticket price will not be refunded, am I right?
I just want to fully inform myself in order for me not to starting running to get the ticket refunded before its first valid date ( I means: in the worst situation - I don't get the visa), :D
Thanks a lot for your advice.

That's always a bit complicate with the Schengen visa. xo
To get the ticket refunded, it has to be sent back before the first day it gets valid - otherwise you can't get it refunded any more.
Here is the official rule for returning an InterRail pass:
There is no refund on partially used, lost or stolen InterRail passes and no refund after the commencement date on any pass. Where a refund is permitted, a 20% cancellation/alteration fee will be charged in addition to an administrative charge, in all cases. If a pass has to be exchanged (for example if the validity date needs changing), this will be classed as a cancellation and return postage will be charged in addition to cancellation and administrative fees.

If I haven't yet received my Interrail tickets, but want to change the starting date to a week later, will I still incur a 20% alteration charge? And how do I go about changing the first date I plan to travel on?

Hi.
As long as the ticket isn't printed out in the ticket office, it shouldn't be a problem to change it! :)
Where did you ordered it? If via our partner [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] , I will PM you the direct contact details.
Peter :)
