Can someone tell how does Couch Surfing with Interrail work ?
Where to stay overnight beside using hostels.
I found already free overnight contacts: https://rail.cc/en/social-local-hosts
Or the hostels: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]

I would like to know about this also. I signed up to the site but found the help and guides very limited. Not sure about paying the £24 or whatever it is to get verified also. Seems a little pointless.

My idea of it is, that you meet people online, arrange to stay at their house for free. Few people I have spoken to about it have raised their eyebrows, I've got to say I'm a little suspicious.

Couch surfing is a community based project about knowing people, cultures and places. Free accommodation is not it's main goal :)
You fill your profile with a photo and some information about your interests personality etc and then you are almost ready to surf and host..
The verification process is not obligatory but it helps people that are new and have no references on their profile to receive positive replies on couch requests.. it's not that easy for most people to host surfers with empty profiles or pretty new..

Make a profile.. meet your local surfers , attend some events and it will be easier and funnier for all...

Hello!

Couch surfing is as Baobab said a community of people who share hospitality for each other. I have bin hosting several young people since I joined the community in November last year. I think I have met more than 40 people during this nice way of getting to know people. We have a guest room in Narvik, and have been sharing a meal or two several times a week. Sometimes people come alone, other times we have had groups of four here. We have met only nice people here, everybody has become a kind of member of our family. Julia and Nicolo stayed with us several days during christmas, we had Jacub here during new year and even Oscarerinorge (the small nisse from France) stayed here on his way to Tromsø. Last week we met the most charming german boy Klaus, and he came back after some days and spend a night again. I can tell you, this is a very special way of traveling, not to stay for free, but actually to meet interesting people on your travel.

My family and I are going to visit some of our guests this summer traveling through Europe on Interrail. We are looking forward to it!
