Hi there !
We are planning to do an interrail trip this summer, starting and ending in the Netherlands with ultimate goal: Istanbul. Could anyone with some interrail experience please take a look at our planned schedule?
Netherlands - Prague: one travel day
Prague - Budapest: one travel day
Budapest - Brasov: one travel day
Braxov - Istanbul: two travel days
Istanbul - Thessaloniki: one travel day
Thessaloniki - Beograd: one travel day
Beograd - Ljubljana: one travel day
Ljubljana - Vienna: one travel day
Vienna - Netherlands: one travel day
As can be seen we plan to take the 10 out of 22 day ticket, that way we can spend some time in all cities visited. Do you think this is reasonable?
Thank you in advance for your comments.

Hi.
I think the 10 in 22 is a good solution.
As well using this rule for night trains (might help you saving travel days or using night trains):
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
Especially in Eastern Europe it is good to have a stop for 2 or 3 nights in each city. As sometimes the long distance trains are in delay and you might miss other trains if you only rush trough. But the route you are planing to travel is a really nice one. :)
Some useful links for you (of course there are much more connections available):

Prague - Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/prague-budapest-train/f1468
Budapest - Brasov:
You can use the night train coming from Budapest, exit in Brasov (EN 473 at 07:26h in the morning), then visit during the day Bran (Castle Dracula) and in the evening continue to Bucharest by normal and free day trains. This will be then only ONE of your travel days using the 1900h-rule mentioned above.

Thessaloniki - Beograd: https://rail.cc/en/thessaloniki-skopje-belgrade-night-train/f1636
Beograd - Ljubljana: several possibilities.
Ljubljana - Vienna: day train
Vienna - Netherlands: Vienna to Munich by free day train. Munich to the Netherlands either by night train or free ICE day trains.

I hope this will help you. And if you want to support our work here at the forum, buy your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] .
Thank you, Peter :)

One thing isn't clear however, we thought the 1900 rule is not valid on the first travelling day. That makes us think the stated night train from Amsterdam - Prague is no option for us.
Is that a correct conclusion?

yes it is.
an other option is by day train to Berlin and then to Prague.

Hi !
We would like to make a reservation for the day train from Amsterdam to Berlin and from Berlin to Prague for coming Sunday. However we either don't understand the DB site or we have to go to a different site.
Could anyone help us?
Thank you!

Hi!
You can only make reservations for the CNL night trains online at [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] . However, if you want to make reservations for those trains (reservation isnt compulsory for the Amsterdam - Berlin and Berlin - Praha day trains!) you can do so at a train station in Germany, Netherlands,... :)

Thanks for the very fast response !!
So if I understand correctly it is not neccassary to make a reservation for the day trains. They won't leave us standing halfway?
Thank you once more, we have really been helped with your site.

Hi!
No, it is not neccessary. :) I've used the Amsterdam - Berlin IC trains twice or so and always got a nice place. Of course I cant guarantee it, but as you enter the train at its first station, you surely should find a place. ;)
And dont forget that the IC trains to Berlin depart at Amsterdam Zuid, not Centraal!
