Hello everyone, I'm totally new to this forum and to the whole interrail thing but me and a friend became quite interested in the idea of traveling Europe freely. Not sure what part of the forum I should place this thread so sorry if I'm in the wrong part.. anywho!
Because of work we will not be able to travel during the warmer months (June-August) but I wonder if anyone here has experience in traveling Europe during autumn. I'm primarily wondering how the temperature is during September? I'm a native swede and live in the northern parts and the only time you wont freeze is during summer (almost) and I think it would be a bit of a drag if we travel and all we encounter is cold winds and gray rainy days. Not that it wouldn't be awesome to sit in a cozy pub in London, watching the rain fall down, but you catch my drift :D Is there maybe even a website you can get a good overlook at the weather in all european countries? 'Cause I haven't found one.
Anyone else going through Europe in September, what countries will you visit?
Thanks!
Flo

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Just a short answer, cause I'll have to leave for the weekend... :)
InterRailing in September is nice...I've been ie to Paris, London, Glasgow, Berlin, Amsterdam in September at it was still very nice weather. Also you have the advantage of travelling off-season - cheaper fares at campsites or hostels, less tourists etc...
If you're interested in the southern countries (Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy etc...) it probably is much more comfortable to travel in September because it isnt that hot. ;)

I'm in the same situation as you (working in the summer), and I'm also considering a 22-day adventure in September. Countries I'm considering are Poland, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, Greece, Czech, perhaps a little Turkey, some Italy if I have time ... I'll basically try to stay south to catch the last remainder of the summer :)
