Hi all,
how long beforehand should I book my ferry ticket from Turku to Stockholm? If I arrive in Helsinki on July 20th and buy a ticket there, do you think I can leave by July 23th?

Hi.
I always bough tmy ticket directly at the ferry terminal at the day of departure - usually no problem as foot passenger.

Am I right in assuming that if you use the ferry that it also counts as a day of travel because you would use the 50% discount. And if you go on an evening sailing does the 7:00 rule still apply like it does on the trains, i.e. if the ferry left at 6:00pm it would count as two days?

Hi.
If you want to get the discount fare for a ferry, either your DEPARTURE OR ARRIVAL day has to be one of your travel days.
So there is no need of the 1900h-rule. :)
Often the ferry companies even don't check if you filled in a travel day or not.

Hey!!
I am confused with the use of travel days (flexi pass) when using the ferry connection between sweden and finland...
I thought you don't need to use a travel day when the trip with the ferry is not free but you get a discount?
It's because I found this:
How to use benefits with a flexible Pass
When travelling on a 5 or 10-day flexible InterRail Pass, please note that if the benefit entails free transportation, it requires the use of one of your travel days. In case of a free overnight ferry, you may enter either the day of departure or arrival in the Travel Calendar.
If the benefit only entails a discount in price, this does not require use of a travel day. Therefore, you can travel using the discount - even if all your travel days have been used up - provided it takes place within the overall validity period of your Pass.
Can anybody help me to get rid of my confusion? ;)

Hi.
Seems that you can save a travel day as you don't need it. Perfect. :)
