Hi!!
I was wondering if you could help me :}
Me and my bro are planning our interailing trip, we were thinking getting a 30 day pass cause we got lots of time!

I wanted to do this route:
Brussels
Amsterdam
Berlin
Prague
Budapest
Vienna
Then I'm a bit stuck!!! But I know I wanna end in Paris hehe.

Do you think this route is okay? I'm not sure if I'm trying to spread out too much? And any ideas how to get from Vienna to Paris? And do you think the month pass is the right one to do? I've never done this kinda thing before so any tips, ideas or alternative place would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!! Ellie x

Hi!

Guide for first-time InterRailers: ;) https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303

If you have time, go for 30 days - but be aware that this is quite a long time, so include some days for relaxing...

The cities you mentioned are some classics which I definitely recommend to visit. However, for a full month's trip you can still include some other places - because I dont know your preferencies, I'll just suggest some random places along a possible route.

- Bruxelles: Don't that much to do and see - two days (or even one) enough IMO; but serves as a good base to explore Belgium: Antwerpen, Gent and Bruges are definitely worth visiting! You could stay several days at one city and make daytrips to the others, that saves you the hassle of checking in/out at different hostels/campsites each day. And train connections are frequent and fast in Belgium. :)
- Antwerpen: Same as Bruxelles: Maybe visit Utrecht, Haarlem, Den Haag etc... Or go to the beach at ie Zandvoort on Zee.
- Berlin: Potsdam is close; on the way to Praha you could stop at Dresden
- Praha: Cesky Krumlov or Ceske Budejovice are certainly worth a visit, but a little of route...depends on how much time you want to invest
- Budapest: If you want to relax a little, you could go to Lake Balaton to the south-west
- Wien: Umm...Austria...well, plenty to see...just ask if you need particular info. ;)

Direct way to Paris: Wien (1820) - München (2230) and continue with direct night train: https://rail.cc/en/munich-paris-night-train/f3775
Or, if you have time left, maybe go via Switzerland (Zürich, Bern,...) or via Italy (Venezia, Firenze, Milano, Ligurian Coast) and Southern France (Nice, Monaco,...).

OK, those were just some suggestions...keep in mind that you are flexible with your InterRail ticket and can decide during your trip on where to go next. Maybe look some of the places that sound interesting up on the internet to decide wether you want to visit them or not.
If you need more information on particular places, connections, etc..., just ask - and if you want to support our project, please buy your official InterRail pass via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] . Thank you. :)

Thank you that's really helpful!! :]
I also had one other question! I was thinking of getting the ferry from Dover to Calais (cause it seems to be cheaper than the Eurostar and I quite enjoy ferries haha). So should I just start my interail ticket on the day I get to Calais and go straight to Brussels from there. Is that possbile? x

Hi.

Yes it is possible... as the ferry hasn't an InterRail discount any more, only the cheap normal fare, you can start with your ticket in Calais - so Calais-Brussels is your first travel day.
