Hi, I'm travelling through Europe, and I will take a TGV from Bruxelles-Midi to Nice Ville. The train leaves 09.32, 01.05.10. I had to order a normal ticket for this train, since the interrail seats were all taken. But appearently the train will change it's front car (the train itself), to another train.

Bruxelles-Midi - dep 10:21 - TGV 9826

Bruxelles-Midi EST - dep - TGV 9827 - Subject to compulsory reservation, Global price, Bar coach
Runs as TGV 9826 up to Valence TGV, then as TGV 9827

I have a train ticket reserved for TGV 9826, not TGV 9827, and seeing the first one only goes to Valence, does this mean I will have to pay for the next train as well? I really hope the one I have counts as valid for the second train as well.

Keep in mind, I never actually change seat or anything. It's just the actual engine part in the front.

Thanks, in advance.

Hi!

First, sad to hear that you didnt get an InterRail reservation anymore. But why did you buy a regular ticket? Do you need this particular connection - you could have taken a later train or go to Paris and change there to one of the frequent services to Marseille and Nice.

Second, to answer your question, you are alright with your reservation. No need to change in Valence. Only the train number changes there (the train set wont be replaced by another) - no need for you to get up from your seat! ;)

Thanks for answer! I didn't actually need to, but my mother insisted, and wanted to buy me a TGV ticket :P

Good to hear it will work alright.

Oh, in that case... :D Have a nice trip, Bruxelles to Nice is a very nice route - first the high speed section with up to 320 km/h and then along the Corniche to Nice... :)
