Hi There :D

Hope someone can help.

I'm going interlining in June and had planned to just find a hostel when I arrived in each city. Is this possible? or even a good idea?

I am also planning on waiting a day or so before I move on to the the next city before I reserve a place on the train to my next location.

I have planned a route (amsterdam - munich - venice - rome - milan - nice - barcelona - paris) but haven't booked hostel's/trains just incase I decide to move on earlier or stay a bit longer.

Once again is this a good idea?

Thank in advance
:D

Hi.

HOSTELS: I recommend to book them online one day before. It is easy, most hostels have free internet access - so just book online the next one you move to from the one you are in right now.
You will loose a lot of time if you arrive in a new city and have to walk from hostel to hostel to ask for a free room - as especially in the summer months a lot of them are full.

TRAINS: for the biggest part of your trip you won't need to reserve in advance.
Amsterdam-Munich: by free day trains (if you want to use the night train, reserve in advance on the day your arrive in Amsterdam)
Munich-Venice: the same here for the night train.
In Italy using day trains, you don't need to reserve in advance as you have a lot of options. Just be flexible.
Milan-Nice-Barcelona: you can do this by free regional trains, so you won't need reservations.
On your trip down to Barcelona I recommend you the Petit Train Jaune. Use it between Perpignang up to the Pyrenees and then down to Barcelona:
