If you do not own an European passport, you will need a proof of your residency: visa, residency permit or some other official documents.

Thank you for the information.

But unfortunately, I have not been able to find an answer to the question I have in mind:

I am a Turkish citizen and have lived in Turkey for the past 6 months. Do I need a Interrail or Eurorail ticket? Turkey being an Interrail country confuses me a little bit and the Eurorail website says that interrail ticket is for Europeans + Turkey and Russia.

Many thanks.

Hi.

As citizen of Turkey, you definitely belong to Europe. So you will have to buy an INTERRAIL ticket: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]

Have a sunny trip, Peter :)

Hello, My name is John Blackwell and i have been living in England since the 8th of February. I am here for over a year and I obtained my Brittish passport in February also, as both my parents are English. I am looking to buy a 1 month continuous interrail pass to be activated on the 27th of July. I realise that I am just short of the 6 month residency mark, however i was hoping that because it is about 200 pounds cheaper (including shipping costs) compared to a Eurail pass, I would be able to purchase an interrail pass as I am a British Citizen (British passport and driving licence, national insurance number etc).
Ive emailed the services contact email address however i was hoping to act within the next day or two and it takes 3 business days for them to reply.

I would really, really appreciate your help
Thank you very much
:)

Hi!

If you have a valid British Passport without any stamps, visa etc that would show that you've been staying elsewhere during the last six months I think it wont be a problem to get an InterRail pass. :)

Hello!!!
If I'd make a mistake and bought an interrail instead of a Eurail because now I cannot proove that I've lived in Switzerland for 6 months..Could I go to an Interrail/Eurail shop and change my interrail pass for the eurail one and pay for the difference??
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hi.
You can only change it at the place where you bought it.
You get a refund for the InterRail ticket (usually you have a service charge on it, up to 20%) and have to buy a new Eurail ticket.

I have a US passport but I reside in Europe. Could I still purchase a Eurail pass ? What type of proof do I need to show, to whom and when ?

Thanks.

Hi Christina.

If you lived more than 6 months in an European country, you have to buy an InterRail pass.
You have to proof your residency in Europe by official documents such as a visa or a residency permit.
If you do not have such documents or stayed less than 6 months in Europe on your first travel day, you can travel by Eurail.

Peter :)
