Hi!
I wanted to book a train ticket from Nuremberg (RE 3557) to Prague. I would have to transfer in Schwandorf and take the ALX357 and it only gives me 6 minutes to do it, is it possible or will I miss the second train?
Thank you

Hi!

If the train is on time, then the change if trains is possible (otherwise it wouldn't be suggested on the schedule planner).
If you miss the connection due to a delay you can take another train to Prague and are entitled to a compensation as well.

HInt: most often it is a lot cheaper-and with a same type of uncertain connection, to book via cd,cz and go via Cheb (have to specifically mention that in the request).
MUCH better: quicker, cheaper, reliable (but not for being on time) is a direct bus-once, long ago, there was even for a short period a direct railwaysbus, but the usual others now run. Also check regiojet.cz. THis for the ´train is always better´ german Prinzipienreiter.

hi,
I live in Schwandorf.
The train from Nuernberg normally is in time,
nearly all trains.
The connecting train starting in Schwandorf ist the "ALEX".
each 2. or 3. ALEX is delayed, some ALEX have 20-60 minutes of delay.
the probability that You miss because of delays is very low, accumulation not probable.
the ticket You buy IN ALEX:
2 tickets :
1. Schwandorf-Furth im Wald Grenze ( grenze = border )
2. the Czech Conductor sells You a ticket from border - Praha hl. n. (Prague).
so if the train from Nuremberg is delayed You do not lose money.
Schwandorf-Prague directly all 2 hours.
