Hey, my friend and I are what you call ultimate interrail noobs. Its our first time and would just like any help with where we plan to travel if possible. We plan on getting the interrail ticket that only allows you to travel only 5 times. Also, im curious to whether its even possible to visit these destinations within the time period and be back in England within 10 days with only 5 days of travel. Alsoooo, any suggestions on which routes will not require any extra payment would be veryyy helpful. Any information that you might be able to lend to first time interrailers like ourselves would also be great.
Many thanks, hope to hear from any of you soon

Hi Tom.
From where exactly do you start in the UK?
I just suppose London as your start - keep in mind: with InterRail you can not travel for free in your country of residence:

UK-Paris:
https://rail.cc/en/ferry-london-paris-england-france/f1222
https://rail.cc/en/london-paris-eurostar-train/f1805
If you travel by Eurostar train, the best option will be to buy special discounted tickets directly at their website and start your InterRail tour then from Paris.
Interesting to read as well this topic:

Paris-Brussels:

Brussels-Amsterdam:

Amsterdam-Berlin:

Berlin-Prague:
https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361
Prague-UK:
either via Paris: https://rail.cc/en/prague-paris-train/f2402
or via Amsterdam-Hoeck van Holland-Harwich:

https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-london-train/f3990
If you want to stay more than only some hours in one of the cities, it will be hard to do it with 5 travel days.
Using this special rule for night trains, starting your tour from Paris and skipping Brussels will allow your tour within 5 travel days:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
Maybe think about having a relaxing tour till Prague, continue by night train to Krakow (Poland) - really nice there - and fly back home from there by a low-cost airline.

And if you want to support our work here at the forum, buy your official InterRail pass at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Delivery in the UK is within 24 hours on business days. Thank you. :)

Hi!
EDiT: I just saw that Peter already answered but here's my info as well. ;)
With a 5in10 IR pass you will have to plan a little bit for this journey - but it is doable.
If you have time I recommend to get to Paris (ie with a regular Eurostar ticket), spend some days there and activate your IR ticket when you leave Paris for Bruxelles.
That would leave you four travel days which you would need for:
- Bruxelles - Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/brussels-bruxelles-amsterdam-train/f3994
- Amsterdam - Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
- Berlin - Praha: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361
On your way back to the UK you have the following options:
Praha (dep 0631) to Berlin - Köln - Bruxelles and back to London with Eurostar :arr: not recommended as you would need to use Thalys train (with supplement) to have enough time to change to the Eurostar in Bruxelles
Praha (dep 0631) to Belin - Amsterdam - Hook van Holland and back with ferry :arr: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-netherlands-england/f1659
Praha - Amsterdam with night train and then either to Hook van Holland for the ferry, to Bruxelles for the Eurostar or to Calais for a ferry to Dover :arr: attention, since you have to make use of the 1900-rule https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train you would need a regular ticket from Praha to Usti nad Labem!
You see, your journey would be covered by the 5in10 InterRail pass. However, I would slightly alter the route to the following:
Paris :arr: night train (1900-rule) to Munich and continue to Praha with day train :arr: day train to Berlin :arr: day or night train to Amsterdam :arr: day train to Bruxelles
And with the last remaining travel day I'd either go to Calais or Hook van Holland for a ferry back home.
What does that mean for you - what kind of tickets/reservations would you need:
5in10 InterRail pass
Eurostar ticket London - Paris (regular advance fare)
a reservation for Paris - Munich night train: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/germany/de
a reservation for Berlin - Amsterdam night train if you decide to take it (same link as above)
ferry ticket to get home (or again with Eurostar); P&O from Calais is ~15-20€
