We're travelling by an intterail pass into Zagreb in the first week of July, we are only spending 3 days there and want to make the best of our time, we are thinking about visiting the Plitvice lakes, is it worthwhile?
If so, How can we get there?
Also any other suggestions about places to see in Croatia would be much appreciated.
Thanks x

Hi.
In Croatia it is called Plitvička Jezera.
Closest railway station at Croatian site is Vrhovine. At Bosinan-Herzegovina site it is Novi Grad.
You can reach it by bus.
Just read here: https://rail.cc/en/zagreb-plitvice-train/f1587

Hi.
If you want to stay at the sea, chose Split. Maybe better in summer.
Then it is nice to use a bus (not really expensive) to travel along the coast from Split to Rijeka. Dubrovnik is also good - but you need as well a bus to reach it.
From Rijeka you can easily reach the islands of Krk and Cres for a short stop - but then a tent is recommended using camp sites.
