Hey!
Can someone give me an idea of the availability of free hot spots in Europe? Can you have free WIFI internet connection at train stations?
Thanks!

Hi Luis.
You often get free WIFI access in public coffee shops and as well in hostels. At stations you often have to pay. Have a look at some McDonalds, BurgerKing, Starbucks or similar ones. They often have free WIFI as well.
I have an account of fon.com - sometimes useful, but not always, as you have to know where to find the WIFIs.
And then I use Vodafone Websessions. Expensive per day (EUR 20 - for 24 hours, outside of your country of residence), but as I need it sometimes.
Maybe someone knows better solutions. I hope there will be soon data flat-rates for mobiles covering the whole Europe.

Hi Dudes!
What is the current state of mobile internet / wifi in Europe?
Are there any changes? What do you use?

Hi.
I recommend to use WIFI in hostels or sometimes you can get it as well in fast-food restaurants, normal bars when just having a break for a coffee. It is usually free then.
Also you will always find internet shops around or in railway stations where you can get WIFI very cheap. Calculate EUR 2 per hour.
I wouldn't buy a mobile phone card ... every country has different options (even having the same providers). Often it is required to be resident of the country.
Example for Germany: 1 month Internet access, ~ 1 GB, for EUR 10.
In the past I used my German mobile phone card to have access to Internet. But it was always to expensive (it will become cheaper of course in future), but I am happy with the solutions I described above.
