Hello, I am an United States Citizen, but I have been living in paris since July of 2009, therefore I should qualify for a interrail travel pass. I understand that my country of residence is france and I get a reduced fee, but i am not sure how. Would i have to buy my ticket from paris to a bordering country through sncf, but are they aware of the 50% reduction? Also leaving paris I would have to pay for a ticket until I am out of france, but what happens when I return back to paris. I will be going to italy and greece and say on the way back would I have to pay extra going into france again directly to paris? Also I will be buying a 5 in 10 global ticket. I have 10 days of vacation, so with a 5 in 10 thruoghout my 10 days, i can spread oout my 5 travel days correct? also I am going to buy my ticket very soon, but i will be leaving on april 23 or 24, is it too soon to buy a ticket?
thank you,
Miraj

I would also like to add that my goal, is to see more of italy ,greece, mediteranean area, but I only have 10 days off from school. what would you think is the best option to go about this. I have already been to rome, but wouldnt mind stopping there. if this sounds like too much of a stretch, i am open to other trip ideas you guys might have. I have already been to london, munich, madrid, rome, strasbourg, brussels, amsterdam, prague, and lyon. I am open to other suggestions

Hi.
First buy your official InterRail pass ( [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] ) then go to a railway station in Paris and ask for the discounted ticket to leave France. Often you will get cheaper special offers via the website sncf.fr - cheaper than the 50% discounted one if you order early.
For your way back (I think you know the date already), by the discounted ticket at a big station in Italy - or also now via sncf.fr
It is not to early to buy your InterRail pass 2 weeks in advance. Fill in as country of residence: France
As passport number the one of your US passport.
Always have your proof of residency in France with you (visa, residency permit, ...).
When purchasing your 5 in 10 InterRail Pass you only select the starting date. The 5 travel days you fill in manually whenever you need them. :)
Concerning your route: Greece with the ferry is maybe a bit fare for a 5 in 10.
Maybe think about Berlin, Krakow, Budapest and back via Zagreb and Ljubljana ... ?!?
Peter :)
