Hi, I'm going to travel with my girlfriend and we would like to travel inside europe by train. I'm a brazilian and not an european citizen, so I have to buy EurRail pass.

The question is about her. She was born in Brazil, but she is an italian citizen and she has the italian passport. She lived in London for 2 and half years and in Italy for a half year, but she is living in Brazil at the moment. Can she buy the InterRail pass? She lives in Brazil so how can she buy the InterRail pass? If needed an address in Europe to send the package, her sister lives in London.

The timetables of InterRail and EurRail are the same? If she buys the InterRail pass and I buy the EurRail pass, can we travel togheter?

Thanks,
RenĂª.

Hi Rene.

If your girlfriend has an Italian passport, she can buy an InterRail pass. If she lives in Brazil more than 6 months and this is mentioned in the passport, she will have to buy an Eurail ticket.
Let's say it the easy way: the last six months of residency are important.

If she can buy an InteRail pass, delivery can be to Brazil by secure and express DHL mail service. She won't need a postal address in Europe: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Important when she buys an InterRail pass: the country of residency has to be ITALY. And she has to fill in as passport number the one of her ITALIAN passport.

For an official EURAIL ticket you can both buy it via [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux]

Keep in mind: with an InterRail pass, she can not travel for free in her country of residence (=ITALY). Please read here:
https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail

And it is no problem to travel together if you have an Eurail and she an InterRail pass.

Hi! I and my friends are going to travel in a few months, however they have to buy an EurRail ticket while I can buy the InteRail. The problem is that we don't understand why the EurRail pass is avaiable only as a first class ticket for adults, even I'm more than 25, I still can buy the InterRail ticket for second class which is cheaper than the InterRail first class off course. So, to travel togheter do I have to buy the first class adult InterRail? Is there any EurRail pass for adults to travel in a second class? Many thanks in advance.

Hi.

For details about the Eurail pass please check the website https://rail.cc/en/eurail
As I am not specialist for it - only for InterRail.

And if you want to travel together with your friends who uses 1st class tickets, you will need as well a 1st class InterRail Pass.
But your friends can sit as well in the 2nd class with their 1st class tickets.

I have a similar question to the thread starter. I have been studying in the UK since Oct 2009 but I happen to fly back to my home country (in Asia) for Easter holiday. Therefore, should i get an InterRail or EurRail pass if I intend to travel round Germany in June?

Hi Ryan ...
It doesn't matter if you went home for holidays. Important is that you have your main residency in Europe (=UK). You simply need a proof of a six months residency in the UK either by a visa, a residency permit or some other official documents.
I hope this answer will help you. Peter :)

that's great! I will use my visa as proof as residence. Thanks for the reply.

This thread is a little old now so I felt I should reply with a similar question to the original one, just to find out if anything has changed in the interim and the information given is out of date.

I am English, born and raised and have a British passport. Four years ago I moved to New Zealand and have lived there ever since. My girlfriend (a kiwi, born and raised) and I are travelling the world. We set off over six months ago and we're now travelling through Europe.

In my passport, my residency permit technically expires every time I leave NZ, so technically I haven't been a resident there since early Feb. I haven't resided in the UK either, but that is the Passport I'm travelling on. In fact, since we're travelling, we haven't really resided anywhere since Feb. If it helps, I still have bank accounts in the UK, earn money and pay taxes on that income there and have family there too. I even have my brothers' UK addresses I can use.

Do you think I would qualify for an InterRail ticket with my British passport?

Thank you for your answer, and, for my own peace of mind, if you could just give me an idea of your source of knowledge, that would be great.

Hi Rob.
I would go for an Interrail pass.
As you did not lived in one country the past six months, the closest you can choose with your UK-passport is the UK.
