Hi,
I'm just trying to plan a route taking in as much as possible, but think I'm planning too much! Help needed!
Plan was:
Paris (start interrail ticket here)
Brussels
Bruges
Amsterdam
Berlin
Prague
Krakow
Vienna
Bratislava
Budapest
Zagreb
Ljubljana
Split/Dubrovnik
Bari
Italy
What do you think are the best places to visit out of the above?
I am struggling how to get to Dubrovnik/Split area and then across to Bari. Has anyone got any suggestions?
Also trying to do it in £1,000 including the 30days pass, thinking this is maybe too ambitious!?!?

Hi.
Western Europe is expensive, especially Paris and Amsterdam. So 1000 GBP won't be a lot if the ticket is included.
Better to calculate with 1200-1500GBP.
Do it this way per day:
- accommodation: EUR 25
- food: EUR 5
- beer/extras: EUR 5
per day: EUR 35
35x30 days = 1000 EUR plus the ticket. It is only an example, just try it for yourself.
A nice route you have. Information about the city to city connections also by night trains are at the country topics. As well the how to avoid supplements.
For example:
Paris-Brussels: https://rail.cc/en/paris-brussels-bruxelles-train/f3992
Brussels-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/brussels-bruxelles-amsterdam-train/f3994
Or simply the information:
Amsterdam-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
Berlin-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361
... and so on ... :)
To Dubrovnik or Split either by train (Zagreb-Split): https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zagreb-split-b821/129
Or by train to Rijeka and down by bus along the coast (not too expensive).
The ferry connection you are searching for is here: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-croatia-italy/f2339
And if you like our work here, support it and buy your ticket via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] ... Thank you. :)
Peter :)

About the costs: On my first trip in 2006 I spent ~1000 EUR during a month, including the ticket. That was in BeNeLux, France, GB, Germany...but we had a tent with us and didnt go to hostels. Also slept several nights on trains or in parks, at the ferry terminal etc...); cooked by ourselfs... :) So if you are on a budget you can live very cheap...
