I have 4/4 and a half weeks to spend interrailing and was wondering if this would be possible??

Was thinking:

Prague

Vienna

Ljubljana

(Trip to Lake Bled)

Split

Dubrovnik

(Maybe stop in Sarajevo and Zilina for a night or two each)

Budapest

Krakow

(Auschwitz stop off)

Warsaw

I was thinking 3 nights in most places - Is this trip possible, or worth while trying to fit everything in??

Has anyone been to any of theses places?? Any suggestions or definite must sees? Excluding train ticket how much would you need for spending? - hostels, food, sightseeing, nights out...etc

Would really appreciate any advise or any help what so ever!!

Hi.
Just a short answer. Nice tour - definitely doable in one month. Eastern Europe is cheap, so it won't be too expensive.
Calculate like this per day:

- accommodation: EUR 20
- food: EUR 5
- beer: EUR 5
=total per day: EUR 30
EUR 30 X 30 days= 900 EUR .... just as an example. :)

As I am only specialist for InterRail, I definitely recommend you InterRail to stay flexible.
Maybe think about two 10 in 22 days Global Passes. In between you can have a break for a week or so - to relax a little bit.

And yes, I stopped already at the places you are asking for... but some are already fare away in the backside of my brain. ;)
We will update the website within the next 3 weeks - having a completely new version. Then you will definitely find some more information. Until then, I am programming - and not being so active at the forum .

If i don't change my plan, i'd be in budapest > Prague > Vienna just the day you will end your trip after having visited Italy (might you give me some advices going back home?.. :) ) and I've been definitely recommended HostelOne in Prague & Goat Hostel in Budapest for ones of the chepeast & more comfortable hostels.

Hiya

I'm going in May and plan to do :Bruges > Amsterdam > Munich > Prague > Vienna > Salzburg > Bled > Ijlubljana > Bern > Paris

In Prague I think I may stay in HostelOne as it seems to have lots of good reviews but I haven't booked Vienna or Ljubljana yet.. Have you come across any possible ideas ?

Anyone else got any hints or tips?

Does anyone know of a forum/website that is good for finding travel partners?? The people I was going to be travelling with can't go now! And I would prefer to meet some one to go travelling with initally instead of one my own

For Croatia you may find that you have to pass through Zagreb so perhaps you might consider a short stop off there. There is/was a train from Zagreb with through portions to both Wien and Budapest, I took it in 2009!

For Aushwitz, the closest rail head is Oswiecim, which is a bit of a walk and there are two camps to see also quite a way apart.

When I did Aushwitz I took an organised tour from Krakow.

I took a day trip from Krakow to Warszawa and I have to say I was a bit disappointed with Warszawa.

Kutna Hora is quite close to Praha.... suggest you might like to search this on the WWW
