Is there anyway to get from Milan to Rome during the day? I've looked at the timetables on Trenitalia and the only route is with a change in Verona and that takes 21:00 hrs. Apart from that there's only night trains, I think.
Thanks

Hi.

You have the night train: https://rail.cc/en/milan-rome-naples-night-train/f1513

As DAY trains you have the connection with EuroStar Italia (supplement EU 10).
Travel time: 3 hours, running at least every hour between 06:30h in the morning and 21:00h in the evening.

There are as well connections by free IC trains (no guarantee on a seat - reservation recommended).
Travel time: 7 hours, some direct ones, but often with 1 change.

Supplements: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/italy/it
Timetable (use without HST to find IC trains): https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Peter :)
