Hello!

I'm planing to make a trip in Italy for 1-2 weeks, starting at 16 April. I'll start in Milan where I'll take my friend.

First we though to rent a car, but I'm not sure if this is the best way. There is an option to go to Rome the same day where a friend of ours would lend us his car (not sure yet).

Anyway, I'll be very happy if you could give me ideas & suggestions about the trip: some nice places to visit (small towns, nature, interesting spots), best type of transport (rent a car, train & interrail ?), accommodation etc.

I've never made a trip before, so I'll appreciate if you could share with me all kind of information!

Has someone already had made a trip to Italy? What did you like/dislike about it?

Thanks!!

Hi!

If you want to travel around Italy a little bit by train, you might think about the InterRail One Country Pass Italy https://rail.cc/en/interrail-pass-italy - the passes with 4, respectively 6 travel days probably would suit you best. Consider that you might have to pay additional supplements https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/italy/it on most long distance trains.
As long as you dont travel only within a small area InterRail will be cheaper...regular tariff Milano - Roma in ES City is 64,50€, with InterRail you only need the 10€ reservation

Cant tell you really much about nice little villages to go, but you probably cant go wrong along the Ligurian Coast (ie Rapallo). I liked Roma very much, Firenze of course is supposed to be a cant-miss (though I havent been there yet..)
