HI

I'll be interrailing this summer, and wondered if anyone can help me with some tips on my journey.

I really would love to go to lake bled in slovenia and some other places in slovenia, before switzerland.

I''m thinking - Salzburg - Lake Bled - Soca RIver or Lake Bohinj?? - Iljublana - Interlaken - Bern

I wondered if anyone has any experience of these places. Do you know how easy it isto do this journey ? Does anyone have any recommendations of accommodation, and how long I should stay in each place ?

I think I'd like to do some kayaking, maybe on the soca river ? Has anyone done this before ? And can anyone recommend somewhere to swim on the lakes ?

Any advice would be greatfully received!

Thanks !

Hi!

Best way to do this is probably: Salzburg - Lake Bled/Soca River/Lake Bohinj - Ljubljana - night train to Zürich - Bern/Interlaken

You have several trains from Salzburg via Villach (change of trains may be required) to Lesce Bled, some km away from Bled. There's a second station as well, called Bled Jezero but connections from Jesenice (on the Villach - Ljubljana line) are probably not so good.
Soca River and Lake Bohinj are not directly served by rail but there are stations close to, along the Jesenice - Bled Jezero - Nova Gorica line.

I can't give you more particular info about these places since I've never been there... :|

Night train Ljubljana - Zürich: https://rail.cc/en/belgrade-zurich-night-train/f1897

To look for connections you can use the online schedule planner: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

There'd also be some nice lakes in Carinthia - Faaker See, Weißensee, Millstätter See, Wörther See... all served well by rail.

Hope that helps a little for the beginning.

There is a nice camping site on the north east (I think) of Bohinj. You can swim from there too

Hello!

I've been in Slovenia the last 2 summers.. And I truly recommend you to go to Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj.

Best Route: Salzburg - Jessenice - Bled Jezero - Bohinjska Bistrica - Jesenice - night train to Zürich - Bern/Interlaken

The station of Bled Jezero is near Lake Bled and you have a nice camping there.
In the station of Bohinjska Bistrica you can take a bus to Lake Bohinj (5 km). There you have a camping near the lake too.I loved Lake Bohinj! You can do a lot of things there, like swimming, hiking and outdoor sports like rappel, rafting, canyoning, kayaking, climbing... And you can also see Savica waterfall!
I have some photos on my Flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/nextstation/sets/72157623693275951/show/). Hope you can enjoy the trip!
