Hi, I'm planning to go on the InterRail this summer for about the 22 days that you can purchase a ticket for. I would like to see Amsterdam, Athens, Madrid, Milan, and Paris.
Is it possible for me to stay a couple of days/ location for shopping etc or is 22 days too little? If it is then I'll just take the one month..
But in what order should I go and night trains or travelling by day? I'm 18 so do I need any special permits (I live in Finland)?
And from where do I get the travel report? Are there any funny stuff relating to these cities/countires I'm going to?
Is there anything else I'll need besides my ID and of course the ticket?

If someone could answer my stupid questions it would help me a lot.

More questions:
Where do you normally stay at for the nights? Is it possible to stay in hostels in stead of tents/ camps at every stop for a reasonable price?

Hi.

First read this: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303

Find the route you want to travel, the cities you want to visit.

With InterRail you have to plan everything by yourself.

For over night stays use either night trains (nearly all listed here at the country topics of the forum) or hostels. Have a look on [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]

A route like the one you planed is possible within one month, buy it is really a lot of travel. You will cross the full Europe from North to South-East. From South-East to South-West and back home.

If you know exactly the places you want to visit, I can give you some more information. Check as well the country topics of the forum where you will find a lot of connections.

Peter :)

Hello!

Me and my girlfriend plan to travel with InterRail. This will be our first experience traveling with InterRail. We depart from Zagreb and wanted to visit Rome, Nice, Barcelona, and perhaps even a city. I am interested in whether it is possible to travel well with InterRail Global Pass 5 days within 10 days? We are not able to travel more than 11 days. What is the best route? In which city would be worth a longer stay? We would travel in Sep 2014th I know that this is still a lot of time but we want to prepare well. How much will the reservation cost us? And one more question, is this ticket Valid for Bernina express it, do we get any discount with it?

Hi.

Some information for you...
A step by step guide is here: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303

All information concerning city to city connections, especially night trains are at the country topics:
https://rail.cc/en/countries

Supplements are listed here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
Train schedules here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Concerning your route... Zagreb - Rome - Nice - Barcelona.
It is possible with a 5 in 10 pass using as well the special rule for night trains: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train

First step from Zagreb to Ljubljana, then continue to Venice using this route: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663
Then Venice to Rome. Possible in 1 day of travel.

Next step is Rome to Nice, then Nice to Barcelona...
Maybe use the Petit Train Jaune between Perpignan and Barcelona. Much nicer to cross the Pyrenees than using to normal way along the coast:
