Hey Guys,

Am planning on going inter-railing for the first time at end of July. Hoping to go for a month, buying the 22 day pass.

So far, vague plan of starting in Paris-Amsterdam-Bruges-Berlin-Krakow(Auschwitz)-Prague-Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest-Zagreb...

Then would like to work through Croatia to Greece to then get the ferry to Italy to work my way up Italy-Zurich and then back to Paris.

Just a few questions...is this possible timewise? And any rough idea of costs? Is £800 going to be enough?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi.

With 22 days, you will be in a hurry. No problem to do it but you won't see a lot of the single cities.
I recommend to stay at least 2 days in a bigger city.

GBP 800 including the ticket isn't a lot. Calculate like this per day:
- Food: EUR 8
- Hostel or overnight train: EUR 20
- Extras: EUR 5
Per day: something about EUR 35
Per 22 days: EUR 35 x 22 = ~ EUR 700 PLUS the ticket.
Of course you can save money on hostels or spent much more for hotels. It is only to get an impression.

Concerning your route:
Croatia is a bit far away on your way down to Italy. Have a look on a map. But as well: no problem to reach it.

There is a lot of information here at the country topics concerning night trains and special connections...
For example on how to avoid supplements on Paris-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-amsterdam

If you know exactly the route you want to travel, let us know ... and you will get all the details you will need.

Peter :)

Thanks!

The route posted was one that I hoped to do! However, you think Croatia is a bit out?? I really want to go there...any other suggested routes around there that would allow me to fit it in?
