Hi. I just received my ticket in the post. I have an Irish Passport but my current residence is the United Kingdom. I filled this out on the on-line form. I have just noticed on the top right hand corner of the ticket where it says

FULL NAME:
COUNTRY:
PASS-/ID-NR:
DATE OF BIRTH

The country says United Kingdom but obviously my passport number is Irish and this will be the one checked going through any border controls. i am praying that this will not cause any problems. I am presuming that the country part refers to the country of residence. Can anyone advise?

Many thanks in advance

If you have a proof of your current residence in the UK (and carry it with you) then it should be fine - but let's wait for Peter, here certainly can tell you for sure. :)

Thank you. I will do as you say and wait for Peter to clarify. I have lived in the UK all my life but have an Irish passport as both my parents are Irish. I am going on Thursday so just getting a little jittery now.

Hi.
So let's clarify. ;)

If you lived your whole live in the UK, it is your country of residence.
But of course you will need a kind of proof (as traveling on an Irish passport), so the staff in trains can understand your situation.

This proof can be either a visa or a residency permit or like the official say: You can prove your current address by showing governmental certificates, bank receipts, telephone bills or student visa.
Additional it says: You can prove your current address by showing governmental certificates, bank receipts, telephone bills or student visa. One of these documents should mention your address, and a date of longer than 6 months ago.

With this proof you won't have any problems.

Have a sunny trip, Peter :)

Thanks Peter. I don't have anything like a residency permit etc but I can always bring a copy of my driving license and bank statements etc. I am just wary of not been kicked off a train in the middle of no-where.
